Originally from New York and New Jersey, David Broder came to Connecticut as a teenager in 1977. He graduated from Trumbull High School in 1980 and attended the University of Connecticut, graduating with a degree in History.
David entered the financial business in 1985 at 23, where he began a long career in financial product marketing. David has worked for some of the largest companies in the financial industry, such as Prudential, Travelers, City Group, AIG, and Met Life.
For nearly 30 years, David’s role was to assist stock brokers at firms like Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, and Smith Barney in using the tools and techniques available to them in helping their clients with their retirement planning.
In 2010 David left the marketing side of the financial business and began his financial advisory firm focusing on retirement planning and income strategies. After ten years on his own, David joined Howard Schachter at HAS Wealth Management and Insurance Solutions to continue his journey in the financial industry, adding Medicare Advantage Plans to the vast product array he can recommend to his clients. David is customer-centric, often going above and beyond to care for his clients and their financial needs. He believes the client comes first.
David lives in Shelton, Connecticut, with various exotic fish, reptiles, and amphibians. In his spare time, David likes composing music, writing, reading the Gothic novels of the 19th Century, and tinkering with his small collection of Jaguar cars.
David also supports the Audrie Pott Foundation by donating proceeds from selling his self-produced CDs and novels to this organization, which educates young people about the devastating harm caused by sexual assault and cyberbullying.
